Baker Distributing and Whirlpool Cooling and Heating Announces Their Sponsorship of Gus Dean with Dean Racing
On November 11th, Whirlpool celebrated their 100th year of commitment to excellence. Not only was this night a celebration of Whirlpool’s anniversary, it was also the kick off to the National Whirlpool HVAC Dealer meeting held in Orlando, Florida. After dinner, dealers from all over the country looked to the stage, awaiting a much talked about announcement and ready to see what no one else had seen before.…Carole Poindexter, President of Baker Distributing Company and Gus Dean, driver for Dean Racing, unveiled the 650 horse power, #56 Chevy Impala sponsored by Baker Distributing and Whirlpool HVAC for the 2011 season
For those of you who follow NASCAR, you know that many of the drivers you hear about today followed similar paths as Gus Dean; starting out with Kart or midget car races, winning championships, moving up to bigger and faster cars, and catching the eye of influential car owners and sponsors to make it to their ultimate goal, NASCAR. Gus just finished his third season in the Allison Legacy series, that’s a ¾ size car, where he ran 14 of the 22 races. In those 14 races, Gus had 9 top five finishes, including two wins. One of those wins came at the famed North Wilkesboro Speedway, the first since Jeff Gordon in 1996. He has the attention of car drivers, past and present. The legendary Donnie Allison tells everyone that Gus is “one of the newest and brightest talents in car racing.” Mr. Allison has been instrumental in Gus’ Legacy racing career, taking Gus under his wing and mentoring him in all things regarding the racing world.
Now, it’s time to take the next step up the racing ladder to the PASS (Pro All Star Series) racing series. He will be racing in the 650 horse power, #56 Chevy Impala sponsored by Baker Distributing and Whirlpool HVAC for the 2011 season.
