Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI)

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is a trade association which administers the HVAC/R industry's performance certification programs. Through AHRI’s independent testing by industry standards, manufacturer performance claims are verified for accuracy and HVAC/R equipment is rated uniformly, enabling fair comparisons.


ASHRAE, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, was founded in 1894. This organization fulfills its mission of advancing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education opportunities.

Conditioned Air Association of Georgia (CAAG)

The Conditioned Air Association of Georgia (CAAG) is a non profit trade association which represents fully licensed, professional HVAC/R contractors who perform installation, maintenance and repair services for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional customers. CAAG’s goal is to promote quality and professionalism in the HVAC/R industry in the state of Georgia and to demonstrate genuine concern for the safety and satisfaction of our customers by consistently providing quality products and services.


The CEE/AHRI Verified Directory identifies a list of products (less than 65 MBtuh) that the manufacturers represent as meeting energy performance tiers established by the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) as a part of the Residential Air Conditioner and Heat Pump initiative and the High Efficiency Commercial Air Conditioning Initiative. These initiatives make use of tiers to differentiate equipment on the basis of energy performance with a higher tier representing a higher level of claimed performance.


DSIRE is a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility and federal incentives and policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Established in 1995 and funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, DSIRE is an ongoing project of the N.C. Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council.


ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping everyone save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.

HARDI – Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Distributors International is an organization that represents over 450 wholesale companies, including 17 international companies, plus 300 manufacturing associates and nearly 140 manufacturer representatives. North American Technician Excellence organization (NATE)

The North American Technician Excellence organization (NATE) is the leading non-profit certification program for technicians in the HVAC/R industry and the only test supported by the entire industry.


Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) is a leader in training and education for professional HVAC/R technicians and contractors. It facilitates the collection, distribution and exchange of ideas and information among these professionals.

U.S. Green Building Council

The U.S. Green Building Council is a non-profit community of leaders working to make green buildings a priority in today’s society.
